Exploratory concept portrait of Skeevly Grimlash

Recurring main antagonist

Skeevly Grimlash

Galactic menace. Master of disguise. Possibly imaginary.

Mystery

Classification

Suspected galactic criminal / possible Qu'ah shapeshifter

Affiliation

Unknown

Threat level

Allegedly catastrophic

Whereabouts

Unknown, as usual

Skeevly Grimlash is an elusive, extravagantly theatrical and profoundly self-important villain whose name means mischief across the galaxy. His schemes are unnecessarily elaborate, and nobody can agree on what he looks like, or whether he exists.

He lives by one rule: no crime is worth committing unless it involves a grand declaration, a needlessly complicated escape plan and at least one innocent bystander in a completely unnecessary predicament, usually tied to the tracks of whatever train, tram or monorail the planet has.

Zamfyr and Onobo always rescue the captive just in time. Unfortunately, that's usually exactly what Grimlash wants. While they're busy, he walks off with the artifact he was really after.

Personality

Pompous, calculating, cowardly when cornered and utterly convinced of his own brilliance. He adores dramatic speeches and ominous laughter, rarely fights anyone directly, and his greatest talent may be convincing everyone he's far more dangerous than he actually is.

vs. Captain Zamfyr

Zamfyr considers Grimlash his greatest intellectual adversary. His investigations involve elaborate theories, questionable deductions and a habit of seeing a galactic conspiracy in every coincidence. His obsession often provides the very distraction Grimlash needs.

vs. Onobo

Onobo is more practical. While Zamfyr hunts for masterminds, Onobo is rescuing someone, repairing sabotaged machinery, or pointing out that the villain's brilliant scheme makes very little sense. He knows a long afternoon is coming.

Running gag

Every time Zamfyr thinks he has unmasked the real Grimlash, the suspect transforms into something else, produces an airtight alibi, or turns out to be an innocent bystander wearing a particularly unfortunate moustache.
