Communications & acoustic navigation
Volume
A whisper
Murm is a Hushari with extraordinary hearing. She picks up faint transmissions, the hum of a failing coupling three decks down and the creak of a hull long before any sensor notices.
She navigates by sound as much as by star chart, steering the Wobblenaut through nebulae by listening to how the dust sings against the dome.
She speaks mostly in whispers, which means the loudest crew in the galaxy routinely misses her most important warnings.
Personality
Reserved, sharp, perceptive and very dry. Murm's sarcasm is so quiet it often lands three scenes late.
With Captain Zamfyr
Murm warns Zamfyr. Zamfyr doesn't hear her. The thing she warned about happens. She does not say 'I told you so'. She whispers it.
With Onobo
Onobo is the one crewmate who listens properly, partly because she can tell him exactly which bolt is rattling.
Signature gag
A crisis unfolds, everyone panics, and Murm says, quietly, "I did mention that. Quite quietly."
